Same Day, Or Stay The Night?

A same-day Taj Mahal trip from Jaipur is possible: leave around 4–5 am, reach Agra by mid-morning, see the Taj and Agra Fort, and start back in the afternoon. It works — but it is eight to ten hours in the car for a few hours at the monuments. Most travellers are happier staying overnight in Agra and seeing the Taj at sunrise the next morning, which is what the picture above actually shows. We will quote either, and say which we would book. One thing to check first: the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.
