- From Agra the cab runs towards Fatehpur Sikri and the Bharatpur bypass, on via Hindaun, then takes the Karauli road to the temple.
- Most of the route is decent highway. The final stretch is a smaller temple-town road, which is where a driver who has done it before actually matters.
- 3.5 to 4 hours each way. On a same-day trip that is seven to eight hours in the car, which is the whole reason the pickup is at five.

What The Day Covers
Kaila Devi Mata Mandir
A major Shakti temple of eastern Rajasthan, and the destination of the annual Kaila Devi Fair, which draws lakhs of devotees during Chaitra Navratri. Allow 2 to 3 hours on a normal day — considerably more during Navratri.
Kalisil River Ghat
The ghat beside the temple is a quiet spot for a few minutes after darshan, and pleasant in the cooler months.
Madan Mohan Ji Temple, Karauli — optional
Karauli town’s Krishna temple, closely connected with the Braj tradition. A 30 to 45 minute stop on the way back. Karauli’s old City Palace is nearby if you want a short heritage detour — tell your driver.
Navratri — what to expect
During the Kaila Devi Fair (Chaitra Navratri, usually March–April) and again during Sharad Navratri, roads near the temple are diverted and extremely busy, and there is a longer walking stretch from the parking to the temple. Book your cab several days in advance for these dates, start early, and carry water. Our drivers know the diversions and the correct parking on fair days.

The two-day version gives you a night halt in Karauli, so the drive is split and darshan is unhurried. When is the Kaila Devi Fair, and should we book earlier for it?
The Kaila Devi Fair falls during Chaitra Navratri, usually in March or April, and the temple is also very busy during Sharad Navratri in September or October.
