The Villages, And Why They Are Grouped This Way
Gokul sits just southeast of Mathura across the Yamuna. Nandgaon and Barsana are north-west of it, roughly an hour further on. Together the three form an arc around Mathura — easy in a private cab, genuinely hard by public transport.
Gokul
Where Lord Krishna spent his infancy with Nanda Baba and Yashoda, after his birth in Mathura. The main stops are Nand Bhavan — also called Chaurasi Khamba, the eighty-four pillars — and the Yamuna ghats.
Nandgaon
Nanda Baba’s hilltop village, crowned by its own Nand Bhavan temple with views over Braj. Both villages have a Nand Bhavan, because Nanda lived in each at different times — this is the hilltop one. Expect stairs; the driver drops you at the closest permitted point.
Barsana — add-on
Radha Rani’s village and its hilltop Shriji Temple, a few kilometres from Nandgaon, so the two pair naturally.

Mathura — add-on
Krishna Janmabhoomi and Dwarkadhish Temple. Easy to include, since every Braj route passes through Mathura anyway.
Vrindavan — add-on
Banke Bihari, Prem Mandir and ISKCON. Add it if your day allows, or keep it for a separate unhurried visit — we will tell you which we think is better.
Why There Is No Single Fare Here
Gokul on its own is a shorter day than a full Gokul–Nandgaon–Barsana arc, which is shorter again than adding Mathura and Vrindavan on top. Publishing one number for all of those would mean overcharging some travellers and under-quoting others, so we quote per plan instead.

- We reply with one fixed fare in writing, and tell you if the route needs reordering or splitting over two days.
- Tolls and parking are explained upfront and paid at actuals — they are not folded into the quote and then argued about later.

- No advance for most bookings, and waiting at every stop is included within the booked day.

How far are Gokul and Nandgaon from Agra?
Gokul is roughly 65 to 75 km from Agra, about 1.5 to 2 hours, just beyond Mathura. Nandgaon lies further into the Braj region near Barsana, roughly 100 to 110 km from Agra via Mathura, which is about another hour beyond Gokul.
What is the taxi fare for a Gokul and Nandgaon Braj Yatra from Agra?
We do not publish one fare for this route, because every Braj combination is a different day. Gokul on its own is a shorter trip than a full Gokul, Nandgaon and Barsana arc. Can we cover Gokul, Nandgaon and Barsana in one day from Agra?
Yes, with an early start. The three villages sit in a rough arc around Mathura and a full day covers them comfortably. Adding Mathura or Vrindavan temples on top makes it a long day, and we will suggest a realistic sequence for your date rather than agreeing to a plan that will not fit.
What time does a Braj Yatra day start and finish?
A 6:00 am pickup from Agra puts you at Gokul by about 7:30 am, which is what makes a three-village day possible. Most customers are back in Agra between 7:00 and 8:00 pm, depending on how many stops they add.
What is special about Gokul and Nandgaon?
Gokul is where Lord Krishna spent his infancy with Nanda Baba and Yashoda after his birth in Mathura. Nandgaon is Nanda Baba’s hilltop village, crowned by the Nand Bhavan temple. Together with Barsana, which is Radha Rani’s village, they complete the inner circle of the Braj Yatra.

This page is for travellers who specifically want Gokul, Nandgaon, or a combination the packages do not cover. Tell us your places and we will say honestly which booking fits.
Can we add Govardhan to a Gokul and Nandgaon day?
Yes, any combination of Gokul, Nandgaon, Barsana, Mathura, Vrindavan and Govardhan can be planned. Be aware that the Govardhan Parikrama is a 21 to 23 km walking circuit on its own, so if you intend to walk it, that is really a separate day rather than an add-on. Tell us what you have in mind and we will say whether it fits.
